Empowering Women. Building Communities. Changing Lives.
We’re thrilled to announce the return of Women Build at Pickens County Habitat for Humanity!
Mark your calendars for March 8th, 2025, as we celebrate International Women’s Day with this impactful event. Women Build is all about empowering women to come together, swing a hammer, and make a tangible difference in our community by helping build affordable housing for deserving families in our community.
What is Women Build?
Women Build is a global Habitat for Humanity initiative that encourages women to lead efforts in building homes and hope for families. It’s not just about construction—it’s about connection, empowerment, and action. At Habitat for Humanity, Women Build has a proud history of bringing women from all walks of life together to build homes and strengthen our community.
Women Build began as a grassroots effort in 1991 and has since grown into a globally recognized initiative. Habitat for Humanity launched the program to empower women by providing opportunities to learn construction skills and make a direct impact in their communities.
Over the years, Women Build has united women from all walks of life—homeowners, volunteers, and advocates—demonstrating the strength of collective action. Since its inception, tens of thousands of women have participated in Women Build events, contributing to the construction of safe, decent, and affordable housing for families.

So now, after a short hiatus, we’re bringing back this beloved tradition on March 8th, 2025, and we can’t wait to see you there! Together, let’s build more than houses—let’s build hope, strength, and a brighter future for our community.
