Our History

Since 1981, Pickens County Habitat for Humanity has built or renovated more than 100 safe, decent, and affordable homes for more than 300 individuals in need.

1998 – First part-time employee is hired.

Three male volunteers work to pour foundation.

Phil Hearns became Pickens County Habitat’s first hired part-time employee.  He will serve as the Construction Coordinator, a position long held by volunteer Everett Gladden.  Up until this point, Pickens County Habitat was completely operated with volunteer labor.
