Our History

Since 1981, Pickens County Habitat for Humanity has built or renovated more than 100 safe, decent, and affordable homes for more than 300 individuals in need.

1983 – First homes are completed.

Pickens County Habitat’s first home-build was actually a renovation of an old general store, completed for homeowner Jessie Mae Hunter in Pickens.  The first brand-new home was built in 1983 for the Curtis and Albertine Collier family of seven in Clemson.
