Faithful Community Partners: 5 Point Church’s Ongoing Commitment to Habitat

The 5 Point Church Logo is displayed against a clear glass window.

At Pickens County Habitat for Humanity (PCHFH), faith partners are the cornerstone of our mission, providing the vital support needed to make safe and affordable housing a reality for families in need. Among these incredible partners is 5 Point Church in Easley, whose unwavering dedication has strengthened neighborhoods, offered hope, and helped transform lives throughout Pickens County.

Faith in Action

5 Point Church exemplifies the true spirit of service, demonstrating what it means to put faith into action. Through their generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment, they have become an indispensable partner in our mission. Whether through financial contributions, raising awareness, or hands-on volunteer efforts, their support has left a lasting impact on the families we serve and the community we share.

More than building homes, 5 Point Church helps us build brighter futures. Their partnership reflects a deep understanding that having a stable place to live is about more than four walls—it’s about creating a foundation for opportunity, growth, and self-reliance.

As a vital member of our Habitat family, 5 Point Church has seen firsthand the power of collaboration. Reflecting on this shared journey, Lawson Clary, Executive Pastor over Outreach and Finance, shared:

"5 Point Church was founded 20 years ago with the mission to "reach people with the love of Jesus and teach people how to love like Jesus."  One of the first things we wanted to establish as a church was, if we were to close our doors tomorrow, the community would mourn."

This vision of being a church deeply connected to the community drives 5 Point’s dedication to service. Clary explained how this commitment has shaped their support for organizations like Habitat:

"To accomplish this type of impact, 5 Point has focused on serving outside the walls of our church and supporting our community through financial and volunteer support. Just this past year 5 Point Church has provided 15% of their income directly back into the community and globally to support impactful ministries. Habitat for Humanity has been one partner that 5 Point supported for over a decade, and the impact that Habit makes throughout the Upstate is substantial."

Recognizing the mutual impact of the partnership, Clary expressed heartfelt gratitude:

"The care for the families that it helps, and the groups that come in to serve is unmatched and we are so thankful to have the opportunity to support such a wonderful organization. This journey is not about 5 Point Church, but about making a difference for Jesus through helping others, and we can't do that alone. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for allowing us to play a small part in your larger impact."

A Shared Vision for Affordable Housing

The need for affordable housing in Pickens County continues to grow, with rising home prices and limited housing stock leaving many families searching for a stable place to call home. Community partners like 5 Point Church are critical in addressing this challenge, working hand-in-hand with us to create pathways to homeownership for hardworking families.

Through their contributions, we can lower costs, speed up construction timelines, and most importantly, provide homes that foster stability, dignity, and hope. This partnership is about more than solving the housing crisis—it’s about transforming lives and building stronger communities.

The Power of Community

The partnership between PCHFH and 5 Point Church is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together. It reflects a shared belief that everyone deserves a place to call home and that communities are stronger when we support one another.

Support from 5 Point Church has contributed to the construction of several Habitat homes, embodying the values of compassion, teamwork, and service. Their work helps ensure that families have a safe foundation from which to build a brighter future.
