We are excited to announce our new partnership with the Pickens County Career and Technology Center (PCCTC), which is poised to make a tremendous impact on our builds and our community. Our mission to provide affordable housing is made even stronger through collaboration with local schools, and we are so grateful to the talented students who are generously donating their time on site.

Empowering Students Through Hands-On Learning

Now that classes have resumed, students from several disciplines at PCCTC are beginning to join us on-site, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm with them. The collaboration offers students a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on learning. From framing walls to tackling finishing details, each task provides a chance to apply classroom knowledge to real-world construction scenarios.

By participating in these activities, students enrich their understanding of the construction industry, gaining practical skills that will serve them well in future careers. They are also developing valuable exposure to teamwork, problem-solving, and the technical expertise required on a job site. Through this partnership, students are equipped with the tools needed to succeed in their chosen fields while making meaningful contributions to their community.

A Partnership That Builds Futures

Our collaboration with Pickens County Career and Technology Center (PCCTC) is about much more than constructing homes—it’s about investing in the next generation and strengthening our community. For the students involved, this partnership provides invaluable opportunities to translate classroom learning into practical experience. Beyond equipping students with technical expertise, this partnership fosters personal growth, confidence, and a sense of purpose. By participating in meaningful projects that directly impact families in need, students become contributors to a mission far larger than themselves. They leave the build sites not just with enhanced resumes, but with a deeper understanding of the transformative power of community-driven service.

Strengthening the Community, One Partnership at a Time

This collaboration is a shining example of how local organizations can come together to amplify their impact. By partnering with PCCTC, Pickens County Habitat for Humanity expands its reach, bringing together diverse talents to address the critical need for affordable housing. As students hone their skills, they directly contribute to creating safe, stable homes for families in Pickens County—a foundation for healthier, more resilient communities.

The ripple effects are significant. The students’ involvement inspires others to engage, whether it’s their peers, families, or local businesses, fostering a culture of collaboration and compassion. Each step forward on the build site strengthens the bonds between education, service, and community empowerment, reminding us all that teamwork and shared vision can create lasting change.

Looking Toward a Brighter Future

As this partnership evolves, we are eager to see the continued contributions of PCCTC students and how their experiences shape their futures. Together, we aim to build not only homes but also a network of young leaders who are skilled, compassionate, and driven to make a difference. Their work on our build sites today lays the foundation for a stronger Pickens County tomorrow.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students and instructors from PCCTC for bringing their energy, dedication, and creativity to our shared mission. Your hard work inspires us, and we are honored to have you by our side.
