Meet Kevin Parris: PCHFH Construction Coordinator

Kevin Parris, PCHFH as Construction Coordinator

Pickens County Habitat for Humanity (PCHFH) is thrilled to welcome Kevin Parris as our new Construction Coordinator. Kevin comes to PCHFH with a passion for Habitat and a rich background in construction. He started his career in the electrical field during his high school years and, since then, has progressed through various roles across the construction industry. His journey from property manager to job superintendent overseeing significant projects demonstrates his commitment to his job and his expertise in the field.

Kevin's connection to Habitat for Humanity is deeply personal, having married into the Habitat family. "Living in a Habitat home, seeing the impact it has had on my wife and our kids, and knowing they built it from scratch is incredibly inspiring," Kevin shares. This experience is at the core of what drives him to give back, aiming to pass on these transformative experiences to new families.

As the Construction Coordinator, Kevin is eager to leverage his skills and passion to further Habitat's mission of building affordable housing. "God gave me the gift of gab and the ability to teach. I want to empower our partner families, transforming them from home dwellers into self-reliant homeowners," Kevin explains. His vision extends beyond constructing houses; it's about equipping our partners with the confidence and skills to maintain their homes and improve their lives.

Collaboration is key to Habitat's work, and Kevin is excited to engage with volunteers and the communities we serve. With extensive experience in community engagement, Kevin is well-prepared to inspire and mobilize our volunteer force, bringing valuable knowledge and leadership to our projects.

Despite the challenges of adapting to a volunteer-driven construction pace, he sees immense opportunities. "The community's eagerness to help is overwhelming. I look forward to spreading my knowledge and working alongside our volunteers and partner families," he says.

Kevin is committed to upholding Habitat's values of stewardship and ethical behavior in every project. "I want families to take pride in their homes. I want our volunteers and community partners to be proud of the work they’re doing. I want the world to know that we're not just building houses, but forever homes filled with love," he reflects. “We’re building hope.”
